I was born in Colombia, but also spent some time living in Spain as a child. In 2003 I came to England to learn English, because I really wanted to pursue theological training. After a year in Manchester I started studying for a two year diploma in Christian Ministry at European Nazarene College, Switzerland but after those two years I felt called to come back to Manchester to minister in Longsight. I also continued my studies in Manchester, and gained a degree in Theology and youth work from the Nazarene Theological College.
One of the reasons I love Longsight church is its commitment to social justice and its genuine love for people and the local community. My main responsibility at the moment, as a member of the pastoral team, is to head up various community projects such as our allotment, and our night shelter for destitute asylum seekers. One of my favourite parts of my role is getting the chance to meet up with members of our congregation. I also oversee the use of the building, and love Longsight's willingness to use the space creatively and offer it out to various community groups.
In the spare time I get from church, I work for a local youth project called M13 as a detached youth worker. I teach chess in a local primary school, do some family support work for Core Assets children's services, and I've just taken on a new role as the Eurasia Regional leader for Nazarene Youth - I'm not busy at all!
The best thing about me is that I'm married to Palmira, she's amazing and keeps me sane!
